Hillary Clinton said that Power Rangers was too violent, and on the PTA in Washington, she explained that Power Rangers teaches violence to solve conflicts and that parents should supervise what their kids are watching. The newsman then showed the first season credits. Now, it's gone one step further. Al Gore and Hillary Clinton are trying to have Power Rangers taken off the air! They are picking out this one show and ignoring all of the other ones that are much worse. We can't let our show be taken off the air without a justified reason. We need to inform the First Lady that Power Rangers Zeo is not violent, and the only violence is karate. If martial arts is so violent, then why do parents sign their children up for lessons? Please e-mail First.Lady@whitehouse.gov and in a pleasant manner, tell her why you think Power Rangers should remain on. But, one rude comment will give her more of a reason to end the show -- she thinks it makes us violent, and rudeness will only justify that fact. She will not get the e-mail, the White House correspondents will give her all the ones they think should be read. Therefore, rude comments won't even be seen by her. Thanks, guys. I hope that enough people informing how much this show means to us preteens, teenagers, and adults will help save the show that we all love. ************************************************************************** **** NICE TO MEET YOU E-MAIL ADDRESS: bricks@fhills.starway.net.au, bjwin2@mfs01.cc.monash.edu.au REAL NAME: Bricks J. On "Kids Only" trivia on America Online, one of the questions were: Q: Rita Repulsa is the arch enemy of: A: The Power Rangers * Thanks to GRtrias@aol.com for this sighting. On the Howard Stern Show, during the news segment, they were goofing on Hillary Clinton's talks with Eleanor Roosevelt. Stern's sidekick, Robin Quivers, read the news and said Hillary was trying to re-direct the attention from her "talks" to children's television. One program, "the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" shouldn't even be labeled as children's programming." Stern then said, "Hey, I watch the Power Rangers, and I think it's kinda cool. They got karate moves and all kinds of stuff on it." He wasn't being sarcastic either. * Thanks to AltanK for this reporting. On MTV's "Sandblast", the Blue team won...during the interview, the host says "We got the Blue Power Rangers right here!" * Thanks to mhenry@ax.com for this sighting. The Gold Ranger's Golden Power Staff is now available at toy stores. She informed me that his name tag has the name "Joey" on it. .... that T.J. Roberts from "Masked Rider" was born on September 24, 1979? T.J. stands for Ted Jan. He starred on such films as "Magic Kid", "Magic Kid 2", and "Dangerous Place". * Thanks to Litlbug@aol.com for this info. .... that "Gonna Make It Right", the unaired Mighty RAW song, was reportedly aired on "Another Brick In The Wall" by AnnSchumin@aol.com? .... that Melissa from "Different Drum" was on a General Hospital afternoon special about AIDS. Some General Hospital fans are making me copies and I'd like to say thanks. ************************************************************************** **** TOP TEN LIST by David Brown (Rushnrulet@aol.com) Here they are. The top ten Power Ranger products we'd like to see... 10. Tommy Hairstyling Head - like the Barbie version, you can cut Tommy's hair, braid it, color it or even shave it all off. Best part about this Tommy however, is that the hair won't grow back. 9. Queen Angela - an interactive video game in which you get to be Angela and shoot down Zack's lame attempts to pick you up. A video image of Zack does various things depending on how creative the put-down is. Numerous possible endings include Zack becoming a monk and/or throwing himself on railroad tracks. 8. Kimberly's Shop-O-Rama - board game in which a group of you each pretend to be Kimberly and see how much stuff you can cart out of the mall within the time limit. The one with the most pays nothing due to a computer error while the loser goes home with orange and purple outfits. Watch out for Rita's credit card shredder! 7. Finster's Guide to Groveling - booklet that details how to sound so obsequious that you will actually believe you are lower than dirt. Chapters include brown- nosing, passing the buck and sucking up to shrewish women with shrill voices. 6. Austin St. John Punching Bag - nuff said. 5. Ultra Thunder Mega Ninja Shogun Dino Zeo Dragon Zord - all of the Zords come together in this awesome fighting machine that is guaranteed to send evil-doers packing. Requires 40 "AA" batteries which are not included. 4. Wheel of Color - computer game in which the object is to dress the Rangers in any color BUT their Ranger color. Points are given for exceptionally ugly outfits and you win a trip to the bonus round if the Ranger runs screaming off the screen. 3. Scorpina figure - I don't know about you, but I want one! 2. A hose that can extinguish the worst brush fires in a matter of minutes - And, the number one Power Ranger product we want to see is... Ranger Quest - video game in which you try to get the coveted Green Ranger figure with Dragonzord for your son. You have to search many stores for clues to the elusive toy's whereabouts and in the final battle you club, kick and snake your way through a group of psychotic parents to get the toy and pay for it before junior goes supernova. Make it home with the toy before time's up or you'll never sleep through another night. ************************************************************************** **** STRETCH 3RD PLACE - "A jellybean is sweet, and Kim and Kat act sweet." -- Rayden10 2ND PLACE - "Jellybean is edible, and donuts are also edible, and when Bulk and Skull first saw Tommy's brother, they were eating donuts." -- EnsTomP@aol.com 1ST PLACE - "Jellybeans come in variety of colors, and so do the Rangers. Not many people like black jellybeans, so they throw them away, and the Black Ranger was thrown away for Power Rangers Zeo." -- bricks@fhills.starway.net.au MY ANSWER: Jellybeans come in a variety of colors, and so do the Rangers. Today's stretch word is "post office". ************************************************************************** **** SABAN TIDBITS SARAH BROWN INFO. reported by BrazosBel@aol.com * From the newspaper's TV guide in BrazosBel's area. The realm of daytime television is not new to Sarah Brown, who plays Carly Roberts on General Hospital. She has spent the past two years starring on VR Troopers, an afternoon children's show for Saban Entertainment. "It's a live action show. I played a superhero/good girl," says Brown, comparing VR Troopers to another Saban production, The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, on which she has been a guest star. "I just started this year. I did 12 episodes as Heather Thompson, a ski and snowboard champion." * * * The rest talks about what a tramp her character is, and how she got the role away from another actors girlfriend, that she likes performing, and is a real tomboy at heart. She was in the movie The Heist with Andrew McCarthy and Cynthia Geary (never saw it). Sounds like she didn't like playing a good girl for the kids, " If it's dirty, it's sweaty and it's difficult, I want to do it." Fun date, huh? NOTE FROM MAX: The 12 episodes thing was a typo. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------- T.J. Go! Go! Go!) Ride...(go!)...the machine...(Go! Go! Go! Since that poll bombed, here's the newest one -- which Power Ranger do you think killed the ten others? Here is what we have so far: BILLY -- 14 votes TOMMY -- 12 votes TRINI -- 5 votes KIMBERLY -- 3 votes ROCKY -- 3 votes KAT -- 2 votes ZACK -- 2 votes TANYA -- 1 vote AISHA -- 1 vote ADAM -- 1 vote ALPHA -- 1 vote ALL OF THEM -- 1 vote KIMBERLY'S POODLE -- 1 vote DISGUISED PRIMATOR -- 1 vote ************************************************************************** **** ASK MAX Q: When is Johnny Yong Bosch's birthday? -- Lanny01@aol.com A: He was born on January 6, 1976. Q: On "A Different Shade of Pink", Kimberly's coach was reportedly a foreign spy in Angel Grove. Was this scene used in case Amy Jo ever wanted to come back? It not, why was it used? -- toole@cris.com A: This scene was used to give Bulk and Skull some purpose to the mini-series. Q: Will you tell us who murdered the Rangers? A: Of course. The solution will be in Issue 71. But first, there are some things I need to make clear: Let's say when Tommy was hit in the side, it ricocheted into his heart. I don't know why I chose his side to be hit, but the thing was that he was supposed to be dead. And, Billy was killed, too. It was never said, but you were supposed to know that. Q: Is Billy's last name Cranston, or is that just a fan-made name? A: First of all, Billy's last name is Cranston. Mitchell, Connor, and other names are fan-made. Cranston is a name that Jackie Marchand, who works in the department of Saban that discusses characteristics (such as last names) informed me that his name was Cranston. She also told me that Rocky's last name was DeSantos and four months later, Rocky's grandfather was given the last name of DeSantos. There could have been no way I could have known about that unless Ms. Marchand's name were official. The names are Farkus "Bulk" Bulkmeier, Eugene "Skull" Skullovich, Zack Taylor, Trini Kwan, Jason Lee Scott, Kimberly Hart, Billy Cranston, Tommy Oliver, Rocky DeSantos, Aisha Campbell, Adam Park, Katherine Hillard, and Tanya Sloan. Note: Tommy's last name was based on Tony Oliver, a producer and writer for the show; Douglas Sloan had to think up a last name for Tanya and thought of ... get this -- Sloan. :) Just some last name trivia for you. Q: Exactly why do you/we watch Power Rangers? -- WshSr96@aol.com A: Why do I watch Power Rangers? Well, I'll try and explain it the best that I can. I read a comic this morning that mentioned a device that took out everything bad on television. It took out violence, sexual innuendoes, foul language, etc. At the end, the only thing left was the weather channel, which was soon also taken off. Power Rangers is a very clean show. There is no sex, violence, or language. I am a pretty clean person myself -- I am strongly against drugs and alcohol and all that, and I am sick of all the trash on television. Power Rangers is one of the very few shows that is clean AND entertaining and fun. I mean, Sesame Street and Barney are clean too but they're education shows and Power Rangers is an action/adventure show, that also has the whole Saved By The Bell thing going for it. I've noticed that all of the fans (Except for those who are just horny guys just watching for Amy Jo Johnson [allegedly]) are very nice, intelligent, and clean people. All the good people in the world seem to like good things. And, that's why I think we all are addicted to this show. ************************************************************************** **** THE PRZ BULLETIN BOARD If you have an announcement you'd like me to print, send it to "BULLETIN BOARD" at marxokman@aol.com! --- Today's quote is by Kimberly in "Island of Illusion, Part II". I happen to like "Power Ranger Punks". But, I agree with Kim -- there are some episodes I'd rather not remember, and hope don't rerun in Blast From the Power Past. --- VERY IMPORTANT: If anyone has "Unmasked Rider", the last episode of "Masked Rider" (where Patsy tries to find out about Dex's secret), please e-mail me at marxokman@aol.com as soon as you can.
