Do you have anything planned from July 30th to August 3rd? If not, then you can have the time of your life, just for being a Power Ranger fan, on the Angel Grove Journey! So, what *is* the Angel Grove Journey (a.k.a. TAG-J). The members of the Power Rangers Fan Club (as well as some surprise visitors) are getting together to spend four days together, and go to three theme parks around California. We will be staying at Castaic Inn, a wonderful and affordable hotel near Magic Mountain, Saban Studios, "Angel Grove Park", "Angel Grove Lake", and every fast food restaurant you could possibly want. It's also the same place that guest-stars on "Power Rangers" stay at. Here is the schedule for TAGJ -- you only have to come to the ones you are interested in or can make: Tuesday, July 30 -- Arrive at Castaic Inn Wednesday, July 31 -- Disneyland Thursday, August 1 -- Magic Mountain Friday, August 2 -- Raging Waters Saturday, August 3 -- Castaic Lake, Hollywood, etc. Saturday will be full of cool things, including visiting places where "Power Rangers" films, shopping for Power Rangers merchandise and souvenirs, raffling off Power Ranger prizes, and some games. During the trip, we will take a lot of pictures and at the end, we'll put them all together to make our own scrapbook of us as Power Rangers, on the Angel Grove Journey. Austin St. John *will* be back to play the Gold (BlackGold?) Ranger. .... Tony Oliver, one of the producers/writers, played the voice of Saba, the talking sword? **************************************************************************** THE EPISODE THAT NEVER WAS by Marx Okman (marxokman@aol.com) Let's admit it. No matter how many times we've complained about Rita and Lord Zedd, we missed them when they left on "A Zeo Beginning". Everybody asked me if they would return, and I didn't know the answer until I read the TV Guide summary. It read: Adam (Johnny Yong Bosch) is sent on a nightmarish quest by Zedd and Rita, but the reappearance of the Rangers' old enemies is the least of his problems. Then, on "What's On This Week", a similar summary ("Adam finds himself trapped in an old horror flick, starring Billy, Katherine, Tanya, Rocky, Tommy, and even Lord Zedd and Rita? Is Adam just letting his imagination run away with him, or is this a nightmare come true?") showed up with the title "There's No Business Like Snow Business Part III". But, when "TNBLSB Part III" premiered, Adam wasn't even the lead character. Was this episode just made up, unaired, or WHAT?! Before I get any further, I'll just let you know I don't know the answer...but, I still want to focus on the mystery. How could such a wonderful storyline not be shown? Why wasn't there a summary for the real "There's No Business Like Snow Business Part III"? Was this a late April Fools joke, or what? If anyone knows about this "episode that never was", please include your ideas in the next issue of the newsletter. And, no, it is not the season finale. Q: My friend says during the Zeo quests that Tanya was a kid for awhile. I say she was a teen the whole time. Who is right? -- terrynl@roanoke.infi.net A: Your friend is. On "Hogday Afternoon", Young Aisha met up with Young Tanya in Africa. At the end, it was Young Aisha who stayed and sent Young Tanya back. Tanya became a teen when the Earth rotated back. Q: I just recently began watching Walter Jones on "Malibu Shores", but I heard the show was canceled. Is this true? A: Yes, it is. However, you still have one last chance to catch it. NBC is slated to air what's turned out to be the final installment of the Aaron Spelling-produced show on Saturday, June 1. A definite sign that things weren't going well for "Malibu" came when the network removed the last two episodes from the ratings-crucial May "sweeps" period, fearing the consistently low Nielsen numbers the show was getting would bring down NBC's overall average for the month. Q: I can't find the Power Ranger CD Roms. Any advice? A: All WalMarts carry them. However, they might be sold out but they will order them on request. Q: Why did Karan Ashley leave the show? -- msmail.riouxd@tsod.lmig.com A: She was getting a whole bunch of role offers, and had to wait until her contract needed to be renewed until she could leave the show and take them. Q: How did they write out Kimberly's departure and how did this Catherine chick get to be the Pink Ranger? -- bug@cam.org A: Yikes, that's some question. Okay, Kimberly had two reasons she had to leave: The first thing she had to do was go to a Pan Globals (that's like the Olympics) competition in Florida, and after that she was moving to France with her mother and her new French stepfather. At first, Kat was evil, but when she broke through the spell, she befriended Kimberly and managed to get back her Power Coin (which she had stolen and given to Rita when she was evil) and as Kim was leaving for the Pan Global competition, she handed the Power Coin over to Kat and said she'd make an excellent replacement... Q: Why is the newsletter two days late? A: I fell behind this week. I had to study for Finals. TVG: Tommy, Kat and Billy head to the hills on a ski weekend, leaving the other Rangers to battle Robocupid in Angel Grove. Tuesday, June 4th "THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SNOW BUSINESS, PART II" As the teens are still trying to have a fun snowboarding weekend, they are called away yet again. While they were chillin' in the mountains, things were heating up in Angel Grove. Mondo's Defoliator monster is stepping up the greenhouse effect in Angel Grove. It'll be a hot time in the old town tonight unless the Rangers can put a stop to his atmospheric meddling! TVG: Tommy, Katherine, and Billy are called back from their skiing trip when King Mondo unleashes the Defoliator. Wednesday, June 5th "THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SNOW BUSINESS, PART III" No summary. Thursday, June 6th "THE SHOOTING STAR" Tanya's new boyfriend, Shawn, has to pass his exams, or else he won't be captain of the baseball team anymore, but she's shocked when she finds out that he plans to cheat! Meanwhile, Mondo plans to sabotage the new Zords Billy and Alpha are constructing, so that his new monster-machine, the Staroid, can demolish the city! TVG: Mondo and Machine unleash the Staroid on Angel Grove, forcing the rangers to summon their as-yet-untested ZEO Zords. Saturday, June 8th "EVERY DOG HAS HIS DAY" Katherine trains a dog, Smokey, to help the fire department locate trouble. However, when Smokey's nose sniffs out Mondo's latest scheme, Katherine's the one who finds trouble: she has to single-handedly fend off the Machine King's minions-without her Zeonizer!
