Although, I have crossed over many regulars from the last season, it's going to be *very* different. **************************************************************************** ** 1995: A "MMPR" TIMELINE by Marx Okman (marxokman@aol.com) This time last year, Jason, Trini, and Zack had just left and were replaced by the Stone Canyon kids. Billy was still a nerd, but didn't wear glasses. Kimberly was more of a valleygirl and Kat was nowhere to be found. Tommy had shocked everyone by becoming the White Ranger. There were putties and the Thunder Megazord was the newest zord. Well, lots of things change in a year... here's a timeline of everything that's happened to MMPR and the actors who play them in 1995.... JANUARY * 22: Filming continues for the movie in Australlia. FEBRUARY * 4: The Rangers get turned back into kids in "Rangers Back In Time Part I", and the continuation of the mid-season hiatus. * 11: The Rangers should be in pictures, and they are in "Rangers Back In Time Part II". * 13: Rita returns in "The Wedding Part I" * 14: The Rangers get trapped and Alpha is a bad boy in "The Wedding Part II". * 15: Rita and Zedd wed in "The Wedding Part II". * 20: The Green Ranger is back with a vengeance in "Return of the Green Ranger Part I". * 21: The Rangers get trapped back in time in "Return of the Green Ranger Part II". * 22: The Dragonzord returns in "Return of the Green Ranger Part III". MARCH * 4: The Blue Ranger is featured on the cover of "TV Guide" in the United States. APRIL * 24: More of everyone's favorite valley girl during "Think Pink!" week. * 29: All's fair in war and politics in "Best Man For The Job". MAY * 1: The Rangers get trapped in "their history" book in "Storybook Rangers Part I". * 2: Aisha gets a drawing lesson in "Storybook Rangers Part II". * 8: Kimberly does her first nude scene in "Wild West Rangers Part I". Jason David Frank is named one of the most beautiful people in the world. * 9: The very, very first Rangers are introduced in "Wild West Rangers Part II". * 15: More of everyone's favorite nerd on "True Blue" week * 20: Our female members freak at the sight of two Billy's in "Blue Ranger Gone Bad". AUGUST * 11: The second season of MMPR: NL comes out with an interview with Shuki Levy. SEPTEMBER * 2: The first crossover premieres in "A Friend In Need Part I". * 9: Kimberly fights a cold in "A Friend In Need Parts II and II". * 11: The third season begins with a "Ninja Quest". * 12: The zords are totaled and the Rangers are powerless in "Ninja Quest Part II'. * 13: Ninjor is introduced in "Ninja Quest Part III". * 14: The Falcon Megazord is given to the Rangers in "Ninja Quest Part IV". * 18: Kimberly may have to splurge on French fries in "Best Man For The Job". * 19: Lord Zedd does some redecorating in "Passing the Lantern". * 20: Rocky blows up the school in "Wizard For A Day". * 23: Rocky misses a pass in "Fourth Down and Long". * 25: The Rangers get some things off of their chest in "Stop The Hate Master Part I". * 26: Aisha gets some new jewelry in "Stop The Hate Master Part II". NOVEMBER * 1: Kimberly takes a nap in "Changing of the Zords Part II". * 2: The Shogun Megazord is in the right hands in "Changing of the Zords Part III". * 4: Crime takes place in our very own Angel Grove during "Follow That Cab!" * 6: The Shark Cycles are introduced in "A Different Shade of Pink Part I". * 7: Kimberly takes a fall in "A Different Shade of Pink Part II". * 8: Kat becomes the new Pink Ranger in "A Different Shade of Pink Part III". * 11: Mark misses lunch, but Tommy doesn't in "Rita's Pita". * 13: This is the house that Kat built in "Another Brick In The Wall". * 18: Kat takes care of some monkey business in "A Chimp In Charge". * 20: Rita's dad comes for a visit in "Master Vile and the Metallic Armor Part I". * 21: Katherine almost switch sides in "Master Vile and the Metallic Armor Part II". Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie is released on video. * 22: The Rangers save the Zeo crystal in "Master Vile and the Metallic Armor Part III". * 23: Santa is all tied up during Christmas in "I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger". Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is chosen as #1 in the FOX Kids TV Takeover. * 25: Kat and Aisha take their turn at songwriting in "The Sound of Dischordia". * 27: Kat becomes a child again at the carnival ... literally in "Rangers In Reverse". DECEMBER * 20: The MMPR: NL Christmas issue arrives, as does the 3rd season of MMPR: NL. **************************************************************************** MMPR SIGHTINGS Karan-Ashley will be playing Monica on "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" next Friday. It is supposed to be a very good episode about gang violence. She's going to have a big part so watch for it! AyeYaiYai (Alpha's Song) is heard of the preview of a new movie called "Dunston Checks In". Melissa, from "Different Drum", was sighted once AGAIN on a drug-free commercial. It showed all of the kids who were against drugs, all different. She represented the handicapped by signing "Make a difference", which she also clearly said. Looks like she *is* deaf, BUT she has learned to speak. Robert D. Von Fliss, who played Santa Claus on "I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger". He reprised this role on Masked Rider. Romy Sharf, who used to play Alpha, has been seen as Elf #2 on "I'm Dreaming of a White Ranger". Jason Narvy is going to play Tybalt in "Romeo and Juliet". * * * * * WEST COAST * * * * * WHO: Jason Narvy WHAT: "Romeo and Juliet"; Tybalt WHEN: January 12th through the 21st. Around 8:00. In a far away land, there is a treasure. One Sunday afternoon, I decide to go search for it. I sneak into my traveling vehicle and my chauffeur takes me to this distant village. In a matter of minutes, I see my destination: Toys R Us. We go in through the "Do Not Enter" door because it's open and it's closer to where we want to be: the checkout stand, where the Cardzillion machine is located. We pass a long line of people returning gifts, and make our way to the vending machine. Here goes: my first encounter. I put in a quarter, turn the big handle, and out pops a card. I pull it out slowly and look at it. It has a purple binding with shadowy creases. A red stripe reads "36. Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa". On the right corner is Lord Zedd's Z symbol and the words Evil Space Aliens. The picture in the middle shows Rita on Lord Zedd's lap. I turn the card over. The first thing I see is a stripe at the top that says "Cardzillion Power Rangers #36". Then there are two small boxes underneath it. The left box shows the same picture of Lord Zedd and Rita. The box on the right reads "DATA" and gives the height and weight of both Lord Zedd and Rita. Underneath the two boxes is a box that reads "Counterintelligence" and a paragraph about Lord Zedd and Rita getting married. Underneath that is a box that reads "Power Rangers Fact #8" and gives a fact about how the Power Rangers morph. I go to the second machine. All four of the machines are identical, except for the one on the bottom left. I randomly go from machine to machine until I get to the different one. It is called "The All-Star Card Series" and I put a quarter in. Out comes a card, but with different form. It has a blue binding, and the cover in the middle shows Billy in glasses and overalls. The top left corner shows the wolf symbol and a yellow stripe on the bottom left reads "29. Billy" and underneath it reads "The Blue Ranger". On the bottom right shows the Power Ax. I flip it over. The top says "The All-Star Card Series" and red, white, and blue is a common pattern. Underneath a line of stars is a picture of the six morphed Rangers, in the famous formation (Black, Yellow, Pink, Blue, with Red squatting and White behind.) Next, I see a box labeled "Blue Ranger", which gives information on Billy. Behind the data is a drawing of the blue Ranger helmet. Underneath that is a black box which talks about "Ranger Rummy". It turns out that you can play a card game with the All-Star Cards. Basically, Ranger Rummy is a game played with the symbols on the front of the cards (Like the Power Ax). The object is to be the first to get all of the five different Power Weapons in your hand. You can discard up to three cards per turn. And, some of the cards have a Lord Zedd symbol. If you get that, you *have* to discard five cards. Finally, I spend all 20 quarters and manage to get four duplicates in the regular series and no duplicates in the All-Stars (Because, there was only one machine and three of the others). I look at my treasures and am very satisfied. These things are morphinomenal! Before I go, I buy two packs of movie cards (That's all they had left) and get three more quarters. Back to the machine ... Isn't it weird? A 25-cent piece can bring so much! I promise to use each and every one to get something good: a Power Ranger card from a vending machine. A I have talked to a lot of people who have met him and can sense it in his interviews. Austin is really mean to fans. One guy was at a mall where he was. The guy was holding his autograph book and Austin comes right up to him and says, "You want my autograph, huh?" and he says, "Not really. I just wanted to ask Amy Jo if she has an e-mail address". And, Austin looks at him funny and then laughs right in his face for 35 seconds. Then, there was a guy in a hospital, where the Rangers went to say hello.
