ASK MAX Q When the Rangers, (thanks to MMPRTM) get new zords (bear, frog, ape ect....) why are their helmets still reflective of their "old" Zords? Aisha still has the Tiger-teeth, Adam the Mastadon Tusks ect.....WHY? I recogonise the money it my save in action figures and old Sentai footage, but the chest insignia is different, so why are the helmets the same????? A Here's what I think: During the beginning of the movie, they are wearing their old helmets and suits--they aren't spandex, they're exactly like their new ones, minus the weapons. Since the movie wasn't supposed to look cheap, their "original" suits were identical to the "new" ones. It took a LONG time to construct each helmet and they didn't want to make two sets of helmets and suits. So, when they get new suits, they just put the insignia on and pretend it's different. GUIDE TO THE EPISODES Last week's episode was "Life's A Masquerade". I hope I can print ALL of the responses: Life's a Masquerade-- I think that Tommy being the Frankenstein in the end was cute-- as he is whatever he does!=-) --br550 I liked the costumes and Alpha getting out of the Command Center. Did Jason David play the Frankenstein throughout the episode. Whoever did was BUFF!!! I noticed a mistake--the same exact footage was used on "Gung Ho!" -- Mm__) That is what this column for: To tell what you liked, didn't like, mistakes....give a forgotten episode some attention. A lot of them need attention. But, it seems that it's not going to work...so this column is gone! Hee hee.... YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT Last week's first quote was "They're in this box....all six of them." That was said by Tommy in "A Monster of Global Proportions". He was giving his "power coins" to Goldar and Goldar goes, "You got the Power Coins?" Tommy says, "They're in this box...all six of them." Patri56297 got this quote right and then c.mikoluff.genie.com. The second quote was "That's okay--I wasn't hungry anyway." It was Zack in "Different Drum" (I just wrote up the script--I have everything memorized.) Zack had just tricked Bulk into knocking himself over the counter. He came up with a napkin and some cake in his mouth. Zack says, "That's okay--I wasn't hungry anyway" and then cracks up. I don't know about you, but I just starred at the screen. No one got this right! It wasn't just a bad joke--it was a quote! Today's quotes are: QUOTE 1- "What a fruitcake!" QUOTE 2- "No, it's yours!" TRIVIA PURSUIT Last week's trivia question was something about "What was the name of the grave monster from 'Zedd's Monster Mash'"? I even gave you choices. Because of old footage, MMPR goofs a lot on the script and stuff. Anything you noticed? These came from br550@freenet.toronto.on.ca: 1.- Venus Island-- when the camera was shaking to make the effect of the ground shaking, the camera lifted a leetle bit, allowing me to see the rooftop of a cream/orange/peachy colour of a California style house. I wonder whose house? Venus fly trap? Zedd's cottage? 2.- the ep with the octophantom-- At one point there was a shot of 4 of the rangers tied to metal poles. In the shot the ranger's heads were bobbing up and down! No words though! Saban must have forgotten to write the dialog for that part! I have just received A LOT of Nobody's Purfict. I'm going to run out if I use them all in one issue. I've written a guide called "Nobody's Purfict". It will be out soon so people can watch their fave episodes and look for mistakes. Steve on the new movie: "There aer a lot of different things which are going to set the movie apart from the TV show such as a new Command Cneter, new villains, new Zords--and other exciting changes. Our enemy from the TV show, Lord Zedd, doesn't play a big part in the movie because the Power Rangers now have a new, much more powerful foe, whose name is Ivan Ooze. Ivan's an interesting character because he provides some comic relief in the movie in addition to being incredibly evil." Steve on the new Power Rangers uniforms: "Our uniforms for the movei are completely different from those on the the TV show. The new ones give us muscle and definition, making us look really pumped! It looks great on film, too!" Steve on filming the movie in Australia: "For me, one of the best things about coming to Australia and working on the movie is that it brought us all close together--the new Power Rangers, like me, and the original ones. Well, it happened--I finally got to meet A.J.--twice in one day...kind of....read on to understand! ;-) On Thursday night--the 17th, I had a dream that I met A.J. I was rollerblading with my cousin and grandfather in Hollywood and she jogged by. She was really, really slim--like the camera had added ten pounds or something--that means that she was really ten pounds skinnier--or, in other words, 75 pounds (Hee hee...) She jogged by and I'm all, "Ah...you're Amy Jo!" She smiled at me and kept on jogging. I was thinking, "She doesn't know how much I admire her!" So, I started screaming and crying--"Oh my gosh--I have every episode of Power Rangers on tape....you are my idol...I write the newsletter...oh my gosh....you are Amy Jo....I know you....oh my gosh!!!" At this time, my grandfather was really getting POd at me and tried to take me "home". But, I ran away. Without my asking, A.J. started to give me her autograph. I held out a pen and she goes "Where's a pen?" She found one in her purse. Then, she looked for a piece of paper. She found a used one in the trash, scribbled with notes. She wrote "Amy Jo Joh" but she ran out of room. She had to put "nson" over some writing, about five inches away from "Joh". Then, she jogged back off. Later I heard on the radio that, since I held her up, she was mobbed by fans...then, I woke up. The second time I met her, I was awake. It was my sister's 16th birthday...and it was a REALLY bad day for me. First of all, I broke my big toe and stepped on a tack, inches away from my bad toe. Second, I had to go to the dentist and get two permenate teeth pulled. So, after I get oral surgery, my mom decides we should go out for lunch. So, we go to a restaurant called "Woody's" -- the best restaurant in Bakersfield. I was bleeding and had these gauzes in my mouth. I had novacane and talked like "Medhe Memms Medhe". So, we get there and my sister sits at a separate table and this lady hands us our menus...anyway, I had to spend time putting ice on my cheek and putting gauzes in my mouth. I felt really stupid. I could barely eat...actually, I finally got a couple bites swallowed and it really messed up my surgery...anyway, my mom goes to the car to get more gauzes and my sister, at the table next to me, goes "Hey, see that waitress over there! She's Kimberly!" I'm like, "Huh?" She goes, "She's Amy Jo." Well, my sister, who has "never seen Power Rangers" sure knows a lot about it (Do I talk about it THAT much?) I look and I see this lady who looks identical to A.J.--kind of. So, I'm all "Oh my gosh!" And, I spent the whole night checking her out, trying to act cool, and trying to eat without looking dorky with those gauzes in my mouth. Ahhh....blood came pouring out without the gauzes but I didn't look as dorky. All that for a waitress who LOOKED like Amy Jo. If I really got to meet her, it would be torture. It was hard enough in a dream and with a lookalike in Bakersfield. The real thing would be too much...how would she know how much I admire her? That I'm more than just a fan....hee hee--the waitress wasn't wearing pink. When A.J. leaves the show, do you think she'll continue wearing pink or NEVER wear pink again? I have no idea...
