It's a Power Ranger zine or fanzine. A fanzine is an amateur collection of stories, poems, drawings, etc...collected, reprinted, copied, and sold by someone who has completely lost their mind and thinks they can do this. (The last part was for Heather's benefit. :) ) I love the idea but it's up to Heather if she's going to do it or not! If she wants to, then look for the Power Ranger zine coming soon to a mailbox near you! AmiRee also wants to protest about A.J. leaving the show by not watching the show...good thought...bad way to think it! :) Not with the 3rd season coming on, not with A.J. in a couple of episodes, not with all these blank tapes, not with all those unknown titles!!! :) SO, WHEN DOES THE 3RD SEASON START??? Superhuman Samurai Syber Squad was disliked by Marx Okman, RedRng, XSENTAIX, DavrosPrm (It sucks big time--'nuf said) and NYZeta. So, here are the remaining polls. POLL 1-Favorite Ranger/non-Ranger POLL 2-Which pictures? NEW POLLS: POLL 3-Describe the worst thing that has come out from watching Power Rangers and the best thing. Here's mine: BEST THING: I had to baby-sit kids for three hours. Well, I went to the house and we spent the whole day just playing and talking about Power Rangers! It was really fun and they were the ones who first told me about the Green Candle episode (I thought the Green Candle was a cylinder monster after they told me about it. I forgot when I learned that it wasn't a monster.) At the end, I got paid $20 for just playing Power Rangers all day! Boy, was that cool! :) WORST THING: I stood up for Power Rangers and got "banned" from the Lois and Clark chat room because of my "annoyingness." :( POLL 4-Predict what episodes might be in the 3rd season. Okay, the quote last time was simple: "Nobody's asked me yet...and I don't think anyone's going to." This, of course, was said by Adam in "Goldar's Vice-Versa." Adam had not been asked to the Vice-Versa dance and was positive that he wouldn't get asked. Of course, he wound up getting a date with Scorpina in disguise...but, that's another story. XSENTAIX was the only one who got it right, so he gets 2 points for being the first one. Here is today's quote, the one that XSENTAIX tried to stump me with but I got right. The one that he DID stump me with will be in Monday's nl. "He's turning on us, that's what!" Who said it and on which episode! I got this one right, so can you! "He's turning on us, that's what!" Speaking of stumping, Red Rng had three attempts to stump me and got 2/3. His were toughies though and they could have been from ANY episode. For stumping me twice, he gets two points too. His quotes will be used in next Wednesday's, Friday's, and (the 2nd) Monday's nls Trivia, trivia, trivia. The last question was simple...What were the names of the two islands? I even gave you guys hints. The one that had to do with deception is Island of Illusion and the one with the plant that ate the Power Rangers in his belly was Venus Island. RedRng got this right first (2 points) and XSENTAIX got it right 2nd (1 point.) Here is the scoreboard: XSENTAIX:6 points RedRng:5 points They both are doing great!!! One of them is going to get a Power Ranger Comic Book #1, unless one of you starts playing really hard. Now, there is a maximum of 2 stumps each nl because one person could do A LOT and it would be unfair for someone who only does one. Well, I just want to clear up that everything in this nl and recent nl are not necessarily facts. If it has to do with the 3rd season, it might just be a guess or a rumor. Just wanted you to know.... Okay, Mighty Raw is nice enough to let me give out his screen name--it is Mighty Raw. E-mail him and tell him how much you like him! DID YOU KNOW... David Yost would get jealous of kids who were more wealthy than he was. He lived his life just like any other kid back in Iowa before coming to Los Angeles three years ago and making it big. "Not that wealth is of great importance, but I've worked ever since I was 14, and I had to buy nice things for myself. So I would work hard to be able to buy something, and then someone else would get it and they didn't have to work for it." It's a safe bet that David earns a lot more money these days than he did when he was a kid stocking shelves at his local drugstore. But big paychecks or itty-bitty allowances, David has come to terms with wanting what the rich kids have. "Now that I have done everything on my own, I feel a lot more proud. It is nice to earn things on your own," he says. "I have definitely learned that jealousy is a wasted emotion." Steve Cardenas was a member of a demonstration team that traveled across the nation helping troubled teens. Steve also incorporated his extensive gymnastics background into his martial arts practice. He was a member of the Nampa High School Varsity Cheerleading Team, which placed sixth in the nation. Johnny Yong Bosch got his early martial arts inspiration from watching the popular genre movies. Johnny's martial art skills were largely self-taught until he began training in Northern Shaolin Kung Fu and studying JKD concepts. In addition to martial arts, John lists soccer, acting and stunts as his other favorite hobbies. Karan Ashley has no martial arts training but won her part on the strength of her prowess as a hip-hop dancer. For five years, she was in the band KRUSH. She also has television experience in "Walker, Texas Ranger" and "Scratch TV." In addition, she was a model. She still calls Dallas, Texas home (She lived there for 12 years.) Ashley loves to sing, dance, act, model, put together choreography--and basically just have fun. She feels that she has been blessed in being able to turn her hobbies into a career. SPOTLIGHT ON...JASON DAVID FRANK/TOMMY OLIVER Jason calls himself "a self-described martial artist first and an actor second." He thoroughly enjoys playing the part of the White Ranger. In fact, he likes it more now than when used to be the Green Ranger. When Jason's not fighting the bad guys on T.V., he teaches martial arts at a school he owns called The Way Of The Fighting Fist. (The School now has two locations in Los Angeles. "If it weren't for my martial arts training, I wouldn't be here right now," admits Jason. "When I auditioned, I was told, We'll teach you how to act. Just keep kicking like you do." He holds a fourth-degree black belt! But, although Jason seemingly came out of nowhere, he sure knows where he wants to end up. "I want to be the next Bruce Lee." TOMMY OLIVER Tommy is a martial arts leader. He is a little forgetful but he has a big heart and is always a good friend. Tommy is the new leader of the Power Rangers and he takes the responsibility seriously. Tommy is one who never gives up and always thinks positively. He was even in a cheerful mood when the Green Candle destroyed his powers! Tommy is a true leader of the Power Rangers and a true leader to everyone else too. I wrote that [Tommy Oliver] so if it sounds corny, that's because it is! Now, the very first interview...with Amy Jo Johnson!!! From Teen Beat September Issue: Q: What does the new villain Ivan Ooze look like? A.J.: Ivan? He's purple! He's gross! He's purple and slimy and really cool! The whole movie is adventure and action-packed from beginning to end. Q: Did you do your own stunts? A.J.: Yes. We did a lot of fight scenes when we were civilians. And we have new costumes for the movie. They're cool but they hurt so bad! They're made out of plastic, or this rubber, 'cause it's the muscles and they hurt. We has to be in them for like ten hours a day! Q: What's your relationship with your co-stars? A.J.: We're all good friends when we're working with each other, but outside work we go to our own lives. But being in Australia, it was sort of a different story because we were all so far from home that we ended up hanging out a lot more, going out at night 'cause we didn't know anybody else there. Karan Ashley and I got along really well. We're both Libras--I don't know if that's why or not. I get along pretty well with pretty much everyone. Q: You said you did your own stunts for the movie. You're a trained gymnast, aren't you? A.J.: I was a gymnast for ten years, until I was a sophomore in high school. Then, I moved out to L.A. and I got Power Rangers right away. It was weird! I quit gymnastics when I was 16 or 17 and I had wanted to go to the Olympics when I was a little kid and I never did. So I was like, "This has been a waste! Ten years of my life, a waste!" And then when I got Power Rangers, it was like, this is why I did it for ten years. It has a meaning, it wasn't a waste. Q: What's it like when fans recognize you? A.J.: When I get dressed up to go out, which I rarely do, is when people recognize me. I usually dress really comfortable, so people don't recognize me. It's not that bad. Little kids are funny. They stare, or they'll come up to me. Q: Do you feel a responsibility as a role model? A.J.: Yes. When there are kids around, you have to watch what you say. I'm a positive role model for all these kids! Well, there you have it! A.J. live! Here's some info. on another Power Ranger actress: Gabrielle Fitzpatrick, who plays Dulcea in MMPR: The Movie. Gabrielle has appeared in numerous television and motion picture productions in Australia. She was recently seen in the U.S. in the Family Channel series "Man From Snowy River," based on the hit movie. Her other credits include the television film "Blackwater Trail"; the series "Fire," "Paraside Beach," "G.P.", and "E Street"; and the features "Offspring" and "Les Patterson Saves the World." JAPANESE SENTAI AND POWER RANGERS (From XSENTAIX): Some people still don't have a clue to what we're (Ryu Ranger, Mr Flibble, RedRng, and myself: XSENTAIX) when we talk about Sentai. So I, knowing very little about the topic myself, will try to explain. Japanese Sentai has been around for 20 years. (Which we all know is longer than VOLTRON. }:-) As to the first Sentai series, I have no ides what it was called. I'm sure Mr Flibble and Ryu Ranger know that one. But MMPR comes from a combo of two and soon to be three Sentai series. One being Zyu Rangers, where all of the first six Rangers and zords comes from. Also, Rita and her slaves. The other, Dai Rangers, which is where White Ranger, Tigerzord, and the new zords come from. (Lord Zedd, Zordon, Alpha, and the other non-Ranger characters came from Saban Entertainment.) But, the movie is the strangest. All things that Power Rangers used from Zyu Rangers will be taken out of the series. (Not counting Rita and the gang.) At the beginning of the movie, the Dai Ranger zords will still be a part of the Power Rangers. But, all Dai Rangers Zords will still be a part of the Power Rangers. But, all Dai Rangers will be removed as well. Saban will now try to cross their OWN version of MMPR with Kaku Rangers (Also known as Ninja Sentai) by using some of the 22 zords that series had. To put it all together, the Rangers suits will have the same color, but be of a different design never used by ANY Sentai series. Some of the Rangers' zords are from the Japanese Sentai series, Kaku Rangers. But, Saban will NOT use Japanese scenes of the zords. All of the new zords are computer generated. I hope I haven't made it more confusing! Justin Harvey a.k.a. XSENTAIX Sure helped me, Justin. You know in the new Poll 3: the best thing I got from Power Rangers. Those kids that I baby-sat for were Japanese and they have some Zyu Ranger episodes on tape. I used to watch them before Power Rangers came out and mimic them as a game! It had Rita in it but I couldn't make anything out because most of it was in Japanese. I know Rita was there--it was the episode where the Rangers found a spaceship and took it to the moon and got caught sneaking around Rita's palace (Sound familiar, Justin?) They also have others, such as the Dai Ranger episode where the Rangers fight Bones. Cool, huh? And, they have Sentai trading cards which are COOL! EXTRAS (From RedRng): The Green Ranger died in the Sentai series. The Red Ranger absorbed his powers upon his death. Also, the Green Ranger and Red Ranger were brothers (I hope memory serves, Mr Flibble knows more than I do!) Martial art quote: "If you cannot change your environment to help your situation, do not expend energy on the problem unless you can do something." "Being a Power Ranger is more than watching the show...You need to reflect the virtue of the characters and help others...even if it's just helping someone to smile." (If that's true then Marx Okman is Lord Zedd. :) <--I helped him to smile. Does that count? RedRng owns the original and Thunder Megazords, Titanus, Tor, Dragonzord, Tigerzord, Shogun Megazord, Ninja Megazord, most of the figures, the Blade Blaster/morpher, and the Falconzord...Marx Okman owns all of the figures and monsters--that's it...esp. with a bill of $265 on AOL! ===( : () ) BTW, RedRng's birthday was yesterday (the 29th) and he turned 22!
