Hopefully, you all are big fans of Power Rangers because you will be hearing a lot of it from me! These newsletters will come out 3 times a week--Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Friday is a special day because that is when you guys can make a newsletter. Sign up to write a newsletter as soon as you can--you can team up with a partner too. If you are signed up but decide the work is too hard, tell me ASAP after you sign up. But, first you need to sign up by e-mailing Marx Okman. Well, we all are big fans of Power Rangers so we should know every episode by heart. So, every newsletter there will be a quote. If you can name the episode that the quote came from, then you get a point. If you are the first one with a correct answer, you get two points. But, if you have points and you answer wrong, your score goes back to 0. 5 points is great-- 10 points will get you a prize. A Power Ranger foil card (while supplies last.) Here is today's quote: "Let me out of here....NOW!....please!" This is easy for me because I know every episode by heart. You have to name who said it and on which episode. For now you can just describe the episode, but pretty soon you will have to name the title too. I will send anyone who asks me an episode guide, if you e-mail me. There are a lot of David Yost's but only two claim to be the one we know and love. Those of you who know me know that I am thirsty for the Power Ranger titles. If anyone has the Album: A Rock Adventure or the Soundtrack of Power Rangers or any of the books and cassettes or ever listens to the music being played when the Power Rangers fight the putties and the monsters, you should know that the singer of those songs (my favorite singer) is Ron Wasserman a.k.a. Aaron Waters a.k.a. Mighty Raw. He is online and really nice. I got a chance to interview him so here it is! 1. Hi, Mighty Raw. Let's start the interview. Do you ever watch Power Rangers? RAW: When I score the show, I watch them several times. 2. Cool. I heard you were engaged to Kathy Fisher, who sings the theme to Sweet Valley High. What has she been doing lately? RAW: That's right...Kathy's been writing lyrics for some other Saban shows. I don't know the names) and working with me on our project called "effie's head." 3. Sounds neat. Question 3- Any new albums coming up? RAW: No new albums in the works for now. I think the exec's will be waiting to see how long the Movie Album keeps selling. When that slows down, I'm sure we'll do a second album. 4. Why do you have 3 names on the album? RAW: Sometimes it looks bad if one person does too much so, Ron Wasserman is the Producer, Engineer, mixer, and Aaron Water sings. The Mighty Raw is something Saban wanted to put on. 5. I never thought about that. That's cool. You're multitalented so they gave you three names. So, how do you think up these catchy tunes and amazing lyrics? RAW: At first, it was easy. But now the rules have gotten tougher. I am having to "Soften up" my approach. The violence thing scares everyone. 6. It is not as violent as most cartoons [see my TV Guide story]. When did your writing period start? RAW: When I was 3 years old. At 5 1/2 I had my first published work that went into fingering exercise books for music schools. 7. No way! You are just like Beethoven and Mozart! What is your favorite song from the album? RAW: 5-4-1! I LOVE THAT ONE! Hero, would be my 2nd. 8. 5-4-1 is my favorite too. Fight is my 2nd. I used to sing that song sooo much. Are you going to see the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie? RAW: I've been invited to a screening on June 25th. I'm not sure if I'll make that one. I'd rather see it with the general public instead of the creators. 9. Oh well. It's only 5 more days! Next question, every music store I got to the soundtrack is under Hot new album and had a sticker on it that says "With "Cross My Line" by Mighty Raw!" What do you think of the album? RAW: Honestly, I do not care for their re-make of the theme (GO GO....). They combined the live show opening, the euro dance version, and the TV theme. I hate to admit it but I do like the Shampoo song. That's about it for me. 10. I like the Shampoo song too. The new remake of GO GO is annoying. I like the old version better. My favorite song on the album is Cross My Line--second is Trouble. Why haven't you made a music video yet? RAW: Atlantic does not feel Cross My Line is a single. 11.Why? Why not a video from something from the 1st album then? And, why isn't Cross My Line a single? RAW: It's rather hard to explain. Saban never does that stuff. As a matter of fact, they want info from me for a WWW page. I'll be providing my own press release and picture. Ahh the politics! 12. Give me info on it as soon as you can and I'll print out the info. in a nl! Next question, do you know what's coming up on the 3rd season of Power Rangers? RAW: I know that Kimberly will be leaving, other than that, I will be seeing the first four episodes tomorrow in a meeting at Saban. 13. Amy Jo is leaving??? Why? Tell me the titles of the episodes soon! :) Besides power rangers, what other stuff have you worked on? And, what new things are you working on now? RAW: Amy Jo will be moving on to feature films for Saban. I also did the theme and music for V.R. Troopers, Songs and Theme for Sweet Valley High, X-men, and am working on a great new CD/I game (I can't give the title) that will be released in three months. Plus, of course, effie's head. 14. Wow! You sure have been busy!!! Who influenced your musical career? RAW: Elton John, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Nirvana, George Gershwin and my mom--in that order! 15. Cool! I like those people too! Next question, what are your hobbies? RAW: Going online. It's amazing how you can contact the entire world from your home. I also love to go 4-wheel driving, which is taking a truck off the road and searching trails. Like hiking with a vehicle. I like cruising. 16. Cool! So, do you know any of the cast/crew of Power Rangers? If so, who are you closest to? RAW: BULK [Paul Schrier]! He hangs out at Saban alot. Back when I was working there, we would just hang out. He is the funniest guy I ever met! He falls down just for fun! He's exactly as funny as his character! 17. What kind of fan mail do you like? RAW: I love getting mail about the songs. Especially when people take the time to ask about the lyrics--they're about my life. I got beat up a lot as a kid. 18. Been there. How old are you? RAW: 33. I know. 19. That the person who plays the voice of Finster is the same person who plays the voice as Lord Zedd (and Locar). His name is Robert Axelrod and he seems to be very good at voiceovers! Thanks for XSENTAIX for pointing this out! Well, as you all know, the Power Ranger movie is coming out on June 30th. Here is the main plot. SPOILER: The Power Rangers skydive, Ivan Ooze is released, Ivan traps Rita and Zedd, Ivan brainwashes the adults and makes turns them into zombies who work for him by packaging ooze, and he brainwashes the kids and makes them destroy the city. Ivan takes away the Power RAnger's powers (Their old powers weren't Spandex. Their old costumes were armor too.), traps Zedd and Rita in a snowglobe, destroys Zordon and misfunctions Alpha, who tells them that they must travel to another planet called Phaedos to get the Great Power of Ninjetti. They travel, get carried away by Tengu Warriors, saved by a warrior named Dulcea who gives the Power Rangers their Ninjetti powers. Then the Power Rangers fight gargoyles to get their new powers. The only way they can get the new powers is by working together so they call out "The bear, the wolf, the crane, the falcon, the Bear, the Frog." in no particular order. (AIsha is the bear, Rocky the ape, Billy the wolf, Kimberly the crane, Adam the frog, and Tommy the falcon.) They get their new costumes with amazing new powers, use their zords to destroy Ooze, save Zordon and the Command Center, and get honored by a Power Ranger day. If I confused anyone, ask for the storybook, adventure on Phaedos, and the behind the scene book for more info. Speaking of Behind the scenes, did anyone see Secrets Revealed last Sunday. I did and thought it was great! You can also see a shorter behind the scenes on the Pagemaster movie or you can buy the books. If you haven't seen ANY behind the scenes things or ANY previews and don't know how to -- just watch the movie. Then, you won't need sneak previews or anything. Hey, look for the Power Rangers on the cover of this week's TV Guide. It has a story on violence or something--haven't we heard enough of this idiotic violence on Power Rangers? I watched Anamaniacs the other day while waiting for MMPR to come on and that show is sooooo violent. I only saw one scene and in that one scene, a duck was walking down the road and kept getting ran over by a giant barrel until he was smushed on the road with blood and guts. And, martial arts is violent??? For those of you who read the messages on Scifi, you know that there are some bashers of the show and I have become a little emotional in my fight with JohnP479. I'm sorry. I'm not a jerk, I just play one on TV! Next time we get bashed, just ask them politely to leave! Remind me that! Oh, and by the way, JohnP479 is only 14 so that calls for his immaturness. No offense--I'm 13 but I mean, I thought he was an adult. I guess his age is a good enough excuse. Sorry to XSENTAIX, Ricrooter, Erbear53, fdfaf@prodigy, and all the others who are teens. It's a long story and I'm not offending you, I'm just saying that if he was an adult I'd feel bad but he's a teen and now I understand that it's normal for him to act this way. Another Did you know. DID YOU KNOW... That Jason David Frank (Tommy Oliver) is married to a lady named Shawna and has a baby named Jacob! Read all about it in People (I don't know what issue but it is like the Best 100 people or something). I want to know if Jacob was the one on "The Ninja Encounter" and if Shawna was the one from "Forever Friends." Disney Adventures has a lot of MMPR info. in it! So, do the Power Rangers magazines Power Heroes and Villains, and the MMPR magazine. There is also a Power Ranger comic on sale now! If anyone can't find one, tell me and I'll help! Well, if you are fans of video games, you should check out the MMPR Movie Super Nintendo game. I liked the first MMPR super nintendo game because it had a lot of unknown monsters for me like Genie (Level 4)! We all know that are MMPR sheets, pajamas, videos, T-shirts, poster, cardboard cutouts(I have all 7 but don't know what to do with them), books, action figures, pencils, stickers, cards, pogs, everything!
