A translation of the OO section of the super sentai encyclopedia reveals that there will be an anniversary special in which lord zedd's son returns to get revenge on the current team of rangers. This leads to several rangers returning to help them.

Lord Zedd's son? That's an odd choice. I think it would've been better to use a villain who could still be alive (Gasket, Scorpinia, etc). Also, if they do use said son, then its stupid to use Tori, Kira, SPD, and Xander because they never even fought Lord Zedd!

Key word there is rumor they have had rumors of simular stuff for a long time. Rangerboard is not always proof after all anyone can post anything with a suposed source.

Zordon's destruction destroyed or transformed all the villains in the U.A.E. So it would be possible that the son of Rita and Zedd would be human. Remember, in Countdown to Destruction, they were turned into a very "preppy" couple, lol.
