does anyone besides me like both sentai and power rangers because some people complain how the two series arent the same and I feel like the only one that can watch both without complaining

i admit to liking both aswelll .... but if it came down to it I would chooose Sentai over PR because of the longer series, the better characters and definately beter plot line!

I like both series aswell. I've been a pr fan for way longer than a sentai fan, but both series are really good! probably couldn't choose one over an other!

Yeah they're both good. And its good they're not the same because copying a show exactly would suck. And the reason ppl complain about Power Rangers is because the writing recently on PR has been bad, not because its not the same as Sentai.

and if i may add *cough* lame characters such as Cole,Billy,Max,Danny,Chip *cough* that also adds to its downfall and their idea that friendship overcomes anything blah gimme a break and the cheap affects no death blood etc.

thus is my point as u get older u tend to want to see more realistic more violent stuff in my case ive seen sentai since i was a kid so im already used to it.

and i think you have to pay a bit more attention to Sentai as there is usually a lot going on! Takes your eyes off for a minute your lost! You can easily fall back into PR!

i like both sentai because of he fact they have the newer series b4 us but i like pr because i dont speak japanese wish i did tho and for al the ppl that are gunna say watch sentai subbed i like not having to read when watching but all in all nuthin will beat kamen rider. long live kamen rider

obviously because they invented it and really it isnt hard to read subs unless u dont read period and failed english class or just lazy in general....

I like both but for two differnt reasons. Sentai is cool good story plots and more adult. PR is a good cheesy distraction with a couple of good laughs. Like it for what it is not what it isnt.

It is a children's show on a children's network, but yeah that's the main difference between the two shows. Sentai has more things that older viewers would find appealing than Power Rangers does, because they can't put stuff like blood and everything in it.

I spose SPD served that up a little bit and I sortof liked there ending - although it creeps back into the friendship zone with Boom saying "They would stay for us so i'm going to stay for them" or some dribble like that and magically everybody is like lets go into battle even though were going to lose woooooooooooooooo.

sentai in the 70's- 90's are the only ones that seem adult the ones like abaranger- boukenger seem to have childish jokes sometimes
even though PR is on a kids network it still has the same tone as sentai like killing a character,the director and acting.

has a character ever been killed on PR in the Disney era. the only one that comes to mind was Kendrix but that was Saban. And well Zordon of course. But even in the 1st series it was like right megazord battle the megazord will crash and knock down 3 buildings. News guy: No-one is injured!

No character has ever been killed in the Disney era. Even Matoombo had to be brought back after being sacrificed to The Master. The news reports in s1 weren't really too annoying, as they rarely appeared, but i hated all that nonsense recently as well. Like in SPD, where the one guy was smashing buildings saying that he "hated empty buildings".

i suppose you can forgive S1 as it was the first - you have to give it some leeway! But there is no excuse for stuff like that to be happening in SPD - after 12 seasons!

even though mike and alex were alive i was trying to say that they show that they showed it as a die-on screen scene (like how magimother turned out to be alive)

Yea i like both and i hate people who critisize power rangers for being a rip off, i mean yes they take the footage but hey, how many people would know of sentai if power rangers didn't exist, so at least give it the respect in it helped u find something u really like. Personally when i watch power rangers and super sentai, neither one is better, i have the mentality of a child when i watch power rangers, and that is how i have always and will always watch it, but when watching super sentai, i watch it with the mentality of a kid my age, so they are both to differnt to compare, at least to me anyways

its called going to asia......or depends how good ur local chinatown/lil tokyo is but there are many ways to find out bout it if crap ass PR didnt exist.

I kind of see PR/Sentai as Football vs football/soccer. Both sports have their fans. Similarin certain ways yet verry verry differnt. Seems like true fans of one dislikes the other. Doesnt mean you cant like both.

a lot of people who discuss this with my view of sentai being better dont think PR is a rip-off. But still PR does get a bit boring after a while! And the seasons are getting lesser where as Sentai works all year round!

It is very difficult to decide which nation series is better. The reason behind this is because there are some ways the Japanese Power Rangers are better than the American Power Rangers, and vise-versa.

For Example: In Power Rangers Space Patrol Delta (my favorite series)

American Doggie Cruger looks better than Japanese Doggy Kruger.

Dekarangers' SP Shooter looks better than SPD Rangers' SPD Blasters.

Dekarangers' unforms looks better than SPD Rangers' uniforms (mainly due to star and gloves)

Bridge's Dekasuit looks slightly better than Sen-chan's Dekasuit.

The way Hoji swithed bodies with Wootox in 'Fake Blue' is better compared to The way Sky swithed bodies with Wootox in 'Recognition'.

The SPD Ranger took their helmets off in Endings 1 and Emergency. The Dekarangers never took their helmets off.

The big battle after the Megazord fight with Slate in 'Reflections' is good. This never happened in Japan.

The sounds in Dekaranger which SPD never had.

Even the FF Screen-Logger font (the font used to translate charactors after Dekaranger Episode 15.

See what I mean! The two are so compromising better differences.

hell no when i was younger my relatives in asia sent me a couple of vids of sentai shows like maskman changeman etc this was back in like 1993 or something tho.and then after that i stopped watching it then when i was in like 6th grade i researched Sentai and i learned that the US used sentai footage to make PR and then i started watching sentai again for brief time again then i stopped again and started watching again when i was in 8th grade.

That is true. I'm sure most members on this board, Rangerboard, and other English Power Rangers/Super Sentai boards are only aware of Sentai because of its ties to Power Rangers. Additionally people who think that Power Rangers is a cheap rip off have to realize that Saban must've thought highly enough of Sentai to try to bring something similar to the US.

Another good point you made me just think about is how the shows are geared to completely different audiences. Because of this, it depends on what you look for in an action show like PR/SS.
