The former musical maestro of Power Rangers, Ron Wasserman, has informed us that he has been made aware of an all new animated Power Rangers cartoon series in development. At the moment, a two-minute promo is being prepared with a view to a full series, but no other information is known. Some fans speculate that this might even be the rumoured "Power Rangers Super Legends", after the mysterious URL that links back to the Jetix homepage. An animated series would certainly be a cost effective measure for Disney, who moved the enitre Power Rangers production to New Zealand in 2002 in order to cut costs. However, even if the new animated venture was to be given the green light, we at the Retrocenter very much doubt that it would be the end of live-action Power Rangers. Whatver happens, we'll keep you posted!

Wow, what a coincidence. Just the other day I randomly found myself thinking there should be a cartoon series. I don't know if anyone is familiar with "Untold Tales of Spiderman", but it was a comic book a few years back (now cancelled) that had new stories set when Peter Parker first became Spiderman. I was reading one of these when i looked at my tv and there was a commercial for Overdrive toys, and I found myself thinking there should be an "Untold Tales of Power Rangers Show". Mainly because it seems unlikely that there were only 145 days that the Power Rangers fought Rita and Zedd before the Machine Empire showed up. This is a good idea.

Well Clone Wars was 5 and then later 10 minute shows. This would probably be an ongoing thing. Also, Star Wars is a movie series. Since Power Rangers is already a tv show, it probably wouldn't be any different than the current show except for the fact that its animated instead of live action.

I think the reason for this is considering that Jetix has heard of the new Sentai season being cat-themed, and didn't like the idea, but to keep power rangers on our television screens, they decided to make their own power rangers, a thought that has sent shivers down my spine. The reason why it's animated is to probably save money for Disney, but that's just my thought. This heavily reminds me of the cancellation of VR Troopers and Beetleborgs. Although cancelled for different reasons, they were both great shows, and became as popular as power rangers in their days. Either this will be premiering during or after PROO, but I hope that power rangers will never be cancelled.

Power Rangers will never be cancelled until it starts becoming something that loses money for Disney.

I think the Idea has some merrit if they did a legend type thing. Just think of all the favorite charachters, powers, zords etc they could bring back. Dont like the idea of replacing live action but it could work compemintary maybe make a few movies out of it.

Yeah as long as they don't replace the live action it will be good. With all the old rangers back like u said roguefan, then they could make even more money supplementing it with the live action by having more toys, videos, and other merchandise.

They could even bring characters back without using the same actor for the voice, kind of suck though, either way if they find a way of complementing each other it could work both cartoon and live action.

I would hope that they would at least try their best to bring back the old actors. Pokemon Battle Frontier is still hard to get used to with the new actors, which on top of the fact that each episodes' plot sucks makes the show terrible. Hopefully this show won't have the same problem.

If they get back to the basics, with a returning cast every season. I guess it might work. It opens up possibilities for better character design and some freedom from sentai.
It could be good, if done right

I don't think that's the idea behind it, having a cat-themed PR series isn't a valid reason for not making the series, from what i've seen of it Wild Force was an animal themed season, (however I didn't get back into Power Rangers until after that season, so I can't really comment) Jetix/Disney are making a series from Gekiranger, during the ending credits of the first task of Gekiranger it says "New Zealand Stunt Team" followed by the stuntmen, meaning they have already shot some scenes to be used in the PR adaptation. (they did the same thing with Mystic Force)
My opinion is that PR has been marketed towards children, some kids will watch PR, and some kids will watch cartoons, so the PR cartoon has been designed to appeal to kids who exclusively watch cartoons, hence giving them more viewers.

I think an animated series based on MMPR would be awesome!, it would attract a lot of fans through nostalgia alone.

I think a Power Rangers Cartoon would be cool myself, and if they use the original voices from MMPR it may be pretty good.

Disney can try animated if they want but they still better do real live-action shows. When StarWars or StarTrek went animated it wasn't as popular as the real live shows and now we have them back as the live shows so Disney can try but I have my doubts and don't really care as long as we still can see live-action eps.

The whole Idea of an animated Power Ranger Series has fasinated me since I first heard of it.
I think it would be a good thing, since it would be animated, and you wouldn't be seing funny men dancing around in large plastic costumes. It would honestly look more real then the live Power Ranger series.

You do realise its basicly just going to be voltron. I liked Voltron but its not the same as live action. Now if they did a cartoon for the kiddies and a more mature version like sentai for the 10 and up group that might work........which is why they wont do it cause it would work.
