Broodwing is the freelance arms dealer of 2020. He trades in robotics, weapons and giant assault craft. He does not participate in fighting himself, preferring to work directly with Gruumm on purely financial matters. Broodwing's exchanges are not exclusive to Gruumm, however, and is willing to trade with anyone who is willing to pay.

When Gruumm stopped paying for Broodwings services, Broodwing began to plot his revenge. Broodwing struck deals with other hostile forces with a view to disrupting Gruumm's plans. When Gruumm launched his final attack, capturing the B Squad and Cruger, Broodwing used the opertunity to launch an attack on the Earth, and succeeded in capturing the Delta Command Base. Broodwing was ultimately forced out of the Megazord, and confined to Containment Cards by the Rangers.
